The name Serraux first appeared in 1145. Formerly a separate municipality from Begnins, only two large winegrowers’ houses remain today: Sarraux-Dessous and Serreaux-Dessus. Acquired in 1932 by the current owners, the Domaine de Sarraux-Dessous has been managed by several successive estate managers, up to the current winegrower Eric Barbay, who arrived in November 2001.

The Domaine de Sarraux-Dessous is located in Begnins on La Côte vaudoise, although all the vineyards fall under the Luins, AOC La Côte appellation. The estate covers 18 hectares, facing south-southeast. The vineyards form a single continuous plot surrounding a beautiful 16th-century residence.

Acquired in 1932 by the current owners, the Domaine de Sarraux-Dessous has been managed by several successive estate managers, up to the current winegrower Romain Crausaz, who took over in November 2025.
